I worked this out acting on a suggestion from Butter Fingers:

First you need to download and install Mattess's free crossbow although with a little tweaking you can probably do this with any weapon. Here's how I did it:

To make your crossbow shot an exploding projectile do the following.
Open up The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\flak\modernday folder.
Copy the folder that says "law" to the flak\scifi folder and rename it "crossbow".
Open up the gamecore\guns\scifi\crossbow folder.
Make a copy of the "gunspec" file.
Open up the original gunspec file.
Right underneath the line that says "smoke = 1" insert this line:
"flak = scifi\crossbow" and close the gunspec file.
Your crossbow should now fire explosive projectiles.
Things to note:
1. Make abosolutely sure you back up anything before you change it.
2. Make sure you fire from quite a distance away from a wall, entity, etc. or you are going to take some damage.
Enjoy!

Once again I thank Butter Fingers for the idea.

The community is full of back stabbers, best to keep your ideas to your self and your trusted friends

Well thats not a charitable attitude higgs. If we arent here to share knowledge whats the point? To rip on others people work? To say "nah I can do better?" To peddle 1s and 0s?

Thats a nifty trick Ihasreturned posted. It was decent of him to share it.

Here is a million dollars worth of karma for it.

It was Butter Fingers' idea.I never said it was mine. While I should have made it clearer that it was his idea if you read the other crossbow thread you would have known it.I did not steal his idead. He gave me a suggestion and I ran with it.
I apologize that I did not give Butters the credit he deserved. It was an oversight on my part.Nothing intentional.
I apologize that the rest of the forums has to read the stupid crap that Higgins posts.
Higgins,
If you are not going to contribute then go find something better to do.Learn to read things before you post. And don't ever call me a thief again.Better yet, don't hijack or post on my thread unless you have something important to say.I have done everything I can to suport your "Free stuff" thread and I even e-mailed a mod asking if it could be a sticky. You're welcome.
Lilgamz is right. We are here to work together as a community.I could have e-mailed Butters and just let him know about it.I figured I'd be nice and share it with the community.
Once again,Butter Fingers,I am sorry that I did not point out it was your idea.I meant no offense.

@The Room,

Greetings. Download the attached flakspec.txt file. I've tweaked the angle and height of the flak. With this updated file, it now looks more like the projectile is flying off the end of the crossbow.

Thanks,

Seth Black
