Can any entity be changed to character or are characters in a special format?

An enity that has character type scripts applied to it is a character as far as the engine is concerned from an action point of view - of course it can only behave like one if it has a characters type animation set correctly set up and referenced. In many instances depending on what you want an entity to do it may require a boned model - in others not.

Thanks uman. Another question, can entities follow waypoints if I change the aimain to follow.fpi?

Any entity should follow a waypoint if it has some instruction to do so in script so yes the follow script should work fine.
