I've searched google, but I can't really find any websites dedicated to drawing concept art for games, other than artists portfolio's. Does anyone have any links to sites with traditional front, back, and side few drawings of humans, creatures, and animals.

So far I've had a few goes at drawing my own and from my Low Poly Modeling techniques book, but if there are any resources out there, that'd help speed up my 3D process a bunch when I just feel like modeling something quick.

The ones I have seen have never been very accurate. Why not use Poser, and just print off a few angles onto paper, then draw over them with black felt pen. There are horses for Poser as well. Very good horses actually.

Thanks Pincho. I have the latest Poser, so I can get a few good concepts there I imagine.

Thanks Armoured slug. Those male and female pictures will be perfect for any muscle definition I need. As far as the warhammer guy goes, I'll have a go at modeling it right now. I'll use the image as a base, and then add detail without the image, since you say that image is for personal use. I've checked out concept.org. Hard to find anything in a good position to model without lots of searches though.

my favorite for making faces is to take an ugly criminal and distort the face in photoshop before embarking on a monster face.

Thanks for the links indi. The anatomy ones will really help.

Thanks for the edit Armoured slug, that'll due perfect.

I went ahead and had a go at the warhammer guy. Here's the basic mesh after one smooth. I'll add some detail at a later date, but the unsmoothed(652 polygon) one came out better than I expected.

I also made a video of me modeling it, which is about an hour long. I'm going to try to compress it a bit and then edit it to get the filesize smaller, then post it up.

@JimB

Yup, it's just a work in progress though. I'm going to be working a lot of those edges to help shape the model like you said.

@Musashi

Thanks, I stumbled upon that link a while back certainly a good find. Looks like I'll have to use my imagination a little bit, as most of the characters don't have side views.

That can be annoying, but I've found with Square's concept art, as long as you got an idea of what a head looks like from the side, its easy to model it. For the Kingdom hearts stuff, Sora has a side view which can be useful when making other characters of the same style
