If you don’t make games for money, then I have a question for you. What is it about making a game that is so fun? After all it is a lot of work dealing with bugs, learning new software, testing, scripting, modeling, and packaging… I’m not saying that making games isn’t fun; I just want your thoughts. So, what do you guys (and girls too I guess) think, what is it about making a game that is so fun?

I actually like playing my friends games more than making them.

1)Your friends see you as the "Cool Guy"

2)Its every time again a challenge so it stays fun!

3)Why shouldnt it be fun?

The challenge of transforming my thoughts into a new dimension of virtual reality.
But if it can be shared and experienced by others, then I guess it is real and not virtual anymore.

The feeling that you made game yourself and it is fun(maybe?) and that people play it...cause you play a bunch of other games and think to yourself that you wouldn't ever be able to make a game like that

I just love making games. Been doing it since I was young, making board games and card games and such. Then when I got my first computer, I've been making computer games and the rest is history. I still love making games in my free time, and well... I make games professionally too.

It's my passion in life. I guess it can be called a need to entertain.

whats fun about it, is to go to my freinds who doesnt even know programs like these exist and brag that im ag ame developer and give him a game i made and him get all excited so then i make a bunch of mini games in this product and sell all of them to him for 50 bucks a copy

but no really, the chance to make a game legend really pushes me forword. Plus its damn good fun.

My bio reads like this:
Quote: "I've loved designing computer games since i was 7 or 8 and i've lost count of how many games i've actually designed (somewhere in the region of 50). My love of Quake games has driven me to actually making FPSs and my love of action films with a hint of sci fi (in perticular Star Wars) drives me back to my camera to continue my other hobby; making movies. "

The most rewarding part of game-making is hitting the OK button on test game and watching you creation come to life for the first time, and seeing something like this...

I just like showing off to my friends. Then some a*s wipe says he can make a better game even though it's only a paper board game with a pee stain.

Give a man some bullets, and he'll want a gun. Give a man a gun and he'll be giving away the bullets!!

For me it's just not just the fun I've got in making games, it's finishing the game. That's what gives me most fun and satisfaction. Most people will never ever finish a game, even though they may have started many.

When the game is finished I do really enjoy it when others have fun playing the game(s) I've created and hearing their remarks on it.

Creating games is an addiction.... I've tried to stop many times, but I can't, please help ( Don't take the cry for help serious )

I remember why I make games now...I want to impart my twisted vision of reality and chaos on the rest of the world...lol.
Just kidding...?
