No, of course not. Even $1000 programs don't give developers a great deal of protection. FPS Pack is useful, especially for compression, and the degree of protection it offers is more than enough for the average user.

I've not had a chance to try "Game Cover", so I'm not positive how it works, but it may give a slight degree of protection. Search for "Game Cover" at the bottom of the page, you should find it.
