Has anyone else experienced the 'problem' of the Outlook Express icons being stretched after every compile and run of a DBPro program?

The same thing happens to me when I run any 3D application regardless of what it has been made in - the taskbar always get messed up.

I never noticed my taskbar getting messed up from any 3D application... ever...

Got ADSL broadband today, so can finally download stuff at home instead of at work.

Just installed DX9 and every XP home update possible.

Have no problem on laptop = P4 2.5 with radeon 9000, 256MB, XP home SP1, IE6, OE6, e.t.c.

Does not look like a DX9 thing, unless it's just your graphics card throwing a wobbly. If you was a noob, I'd say download latest graphics card drivers, but you are not, and sounds like pc is well up to date.

Is it ONLY outlook express icons that mess up? and is it the icons IN the program itself, or the icons on the start menu?

The odd thing is that it doesn't have the problem on my third one (exactly the same setup too)...

Yes, it is only OE that does it - its the actual icons in OE that expand horizontally (the Create Mail, Reply, Reply All etc)...

Run DBPro enough and I end up with three very large icons, until I close and re-load it.

With VS6, you lose the icons in the drop-down menus...

Used DBPro, Visual studio 6 (only the visual basic part though), OE6 for quite a few hours last night. Had NO problems whatsoever!!!

The mystery deepens....

Did you guys check to see your resource level in Windows? Maybe something was leaking and gobbled up all your resources... could explain icons dropping out.

Also, as a shot in the dark, grab TweakUI and do a "Rebuild Icons" - maybe Windows is just getting icons screwed up in general. (Caveat: I'm not sure what versions of Windows TweakUI works on).

It works with any current OS. I'll check to see what resources are being used...

I have noticed that the problem only occurs with DBPro (and not any other DX program). Plus, it happens when F5 is present, even when no program is actually present...

Happens to me to. Sometimes it does and sometimes is doesn't. It just scrambles my icons. Ever seen Outlook Express with a My Computer icon and so on? Reboot fixes everything here. And a logout/login works here aswell. Doesn't bother me. Guess it is just a M$ thing.
