A regular problem on these forums that keeps on arising, and well, I've picked up a couple of answers;

one - It could be the exporter itself, most people seem to use 'Panda exporter' which I assume is free to download

two - Triangulate the model before export, it sounds like some have had problems when exporting to .x in 3DS Max without doing it.

Why are there so many Max users on these forums, yet I am post 16 and I have trouble saving up for Cinema 4D 9.6

Yey! I removed the sig...

Are you exporting the biped/bones along with the model?

1. The panda exporter cannot handle bipeds, you must use bones,
2. exporting using the skin modifier can be buggy, you're better to use physique.
3. make sure you've got export animation checked on the panda dialog
4. make sure it's exporting bone position/rotation/scale keys, not matrix keys.
5. this probably wont apply unless you've got an unsual skeleton, but make sure all your verts are skinned to a maximum of 4 bones, anymore, panda gets upset.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

What version and configuration you use for panda? by what you mentioned above, i suppose you use physique, as i do. Do you export both the model and biped as one file(selecting both, biped and model, and exporting selected)?

Gee, you must have spent a lot of money on 3ds Max and now you just want to give up and move onto another program.

I'd suggest MilkShape if you're sure you want to do it.

Here's to the crazy ones.

no i will stay with 3ds but i wanted to find something to export my model.

with the last panda and 3ds max 7.0 you can export model with biped, i don t have problem with that, but, my game lag so much when i export it with no optimisation, and if i optimize my model, its all deformed

bipeds also make up for the final poly count
normal bipeds are around 2200 polygons and classic (my favourite) is around 500, thats without fingers, take the time out to rig it properly, also, physique is much much better, especially because if you rig it right you can get it to buldge and simulate basic muscles, you can do this with bones too, just takes more work...
bones are the way to go in my opinion...

zeddex send me your max file....

edit: you used the standard walk animation on this file didn't you!! Ran it through one of my DB Projects and the biped walks right out of the mesh, imported the x file into milkshape to check it out ( no way of testing if properly skinned, physiqued with milkshape)

for starters, you always want to make the biped/bones non-renderable using the property menu... As for the rest can't do much without the max file...
