My game demo is gonna feature a hovering robot, which has been modelled at around 1000 polys. It exported from .3ds to .X fine, and I followed the video tutorials for Entity Maker to a T. It imports into FPSC without errors, except that it intersects the floor and when I test the level, I can see its shadow (which follows and shoots me as you'd expect) but I can't actually see the robot.
Just to test it out, I remade it into a plain ol' object through Entity Maker, and it was fine, perfectly visible.
The robot doesn't have any animations, it's supposed to just go hovering around the place (think Nebuchadnezzar). This should be fine since I saw the character in the tutorials do the same thing (it was basically a floating statue).

What have I missed?

For starters seeing as its a flying or hovering entity you might like to try making sure its above the centre line in your modeller before saving out.

That said you need to play around with the entities settings in eidtor. Try adjusting physics settings, weight/friction and so on.

Try using the script appearnogravity.fpi as the entity appear script and see what happens.

Experimentation is the key to success.

Oh don't get me wrong; I didn't simply run into a snafu and immediately give up and go running for help. I tried appearnogravity and various physics settings and anything else I thought of. THEN I went running for help. But I didn't think of adjusting the xyz position in 3ds Max. Thanks for that; it's not intersecting the ground anymore, but it IS still invisible when I test the level. Any other ideas?
