hi, im looking to get into making models, for my games. im not very good, ive used 3ds max 7&8 at school and i can get some alright stuff outta them, mainly buildings, nothign too complex anyway i thought i would geta package, but 3ds max is a little bit steep for me anyway is there a 3d program out there, with the same sorta feel as 3ds max which is free, or cheap?

If you just read the stickies, then you'll know that one of them contains a link to a thread on modellers and their reviews. Pretty much everything's covered there. Failing that, so a search on "Which modeller" You'll get loads of results.
