Well, I have been working on this for a while. It isn't finished yet but the majority is complete, I thought i would announce it presence now anyways.

For those that don't know what Game Cover is, Game Cover allows your FPSC games to include an intro sequence including: a developer logo, intro movie and game title page. Game Cover "becomes" your games front exe and then calls upon your game upon completion.

here is what you can expect from GC2:

- A GUI
- New Preview option, to view your sequnces before saving
- Fade outs from developer logo
- Fade ins to game title image
- Choose a fade colour including a blood red and brilliant white
- New file format support ( AVI, BMP, DDS )
- Automatic folder creation, GC2 creates and saves your sequence folder setup

I have my fingers in a lot of projects at the moment, so i couldn't say when it will be completed, but i thought i would inform you that it's in the making

This isn't the "official" release, but i would like you guys to get your hands on it first to see if there are any bugs i have missed.

I am familiar with one problem, when you import a video from within a file which contains a lot of videos, the program, may appear to freeze, dont worry it is still responding, just "deep in thought", give it a few seconds

I wrote the readme.txt in 5 mins, I put it here for your conveinience:

_______________________________________________________

Drag the Game Cover 2 folder from the Game-Cover-2.zip onto a place on your hard-drive.

Double click the Game Cover 2.exe file to start the program

After you have created your cover, press the SAVE Button and specify a location to save your exported game cover folder setup. When your game cover is exported copy the contents of your FPSC game folder ( typically "FPS Creator\MyGames\GameName" ) into your exported game cover's "System\Game" directory. Rename your games executable (.exe) file as data.exe.

Run your exported game cover application file (.exe) to view the intro sequence.
_______________________________________________________

If you've used GC1 you should be able to get to grips with it easy, let me know how it goes

The link is a rapidshare download: http://rapidshare.de/files/20867746/Game-Cover-2.zip.html

@ Sunrise 3D

I apologise, i tried to upload it here first, but the upload failed 3 times. Bare in mind that the official release will be hosted by my site anyways.

@ blobzone entertainment inc

Thank you very much for your feedback. Was it the main GC2 program ( with the GUI ) which would hang up during exit ? I would be interested to know if anyone else experienced this, i shall look into it anyway.

@ lizblizz

As what I has returned said, think of this as a testing oppertunity, to see if any further problems are uncovered. By all means download this beta and test it, your feedback would ensure that all problems are removed before the final release.

Thanks everyone

Yes i apologise, I only recieved feedback from one person about the workings of the program, I really wanted to know whether other people experienced a "freeze on exit" before i continued working on it.

The "beta" which is linked on one of my above posts is a fully working version, so you can have access to it before "completion".

Thanks blobzone, i have looked into it but i can't see what would be causing the issue. For me both exit options ( Exit button and [X] close button ) work fine, i have opened and closed the application many times and i dont see it stuck in Window's active processes list.

When you close the program, it does appear to minimize at first, as do all DBPro windowed programs ( on my PC anyway ) but then it should disappear. I'm thinking it might be something to do with DBPro. Try exiting the program by going ALT + F4, see what that does ?

Again, thank you for getting back to me

@ Wehtam- Is this program exclusive to FPSC or can you use it on a game made with any engine?

JEEZ!You people just STFU! You waste more space complaining about people wasting space than the people your bashing! Man, I thought I had no life.
