On running compiled progs on another computer they fail - \"runtime error 1514 - 24 bit depth not supported...at line 0\",even though the prog does not change the computer\'s resolution. Why is that?

Maybe the default is 24 bit.

Thank you Pincho.
I have tried recoding my bitmaps from 24 bit to 8 bit. Same result.
I have also tried spcifying 800 by 400 16 bit using "set display mode 800, 600, 16" as the first line of my programme. Same result. The target computer can be set to 800 by 400.
In any case, why should the error occur??

I think this is odd . I have never had any problem like this so my only suggestion is to make sure that your graphics card supports the mode your setting. The default if not specified is 640x480@16bit
secondly , make sure the computer you are using on supports dbc - as in as stated above check your directX version and make sure it is compatible. to find out what version of directX your current p.c. uses you can go to start menu, click run , then type in dxdiag
The direct X version you are using will be at the bottom on the first tab.

This problem does not make sense. It has never happened before. I think we need to see the code.
