I was playing around with a friend and we came up with a menu system that can load levels individually (Another save/load option if you may) It took a whole 5 minutes to program.

As soon as it is polished and simple instructions put together I will have it hosted and available for FREE.

My friend will work on a save at end of level and unlock level function also, and will be released shortly after.

It's all stand-alone too, of course.

Cool Wyatt... thanks

[off topic]
This community is very interesting... When Mr Love said he had made a save/load feature people were baying for his blood as he had not shown 'proof' of it's existence... Yet Wyatt here has also shown no proof but everyone (including myself) is thanking him straight away... I'm not saying it doesn't exist so please don't flame me...
I think part of it is Mr Love is being so arrogant that we all want him to fail in his Menu Extreme venture... and this would definitely imho kill off any ideas he has about selling even 1 copy of M.E.

No thanks needed until it is in your hands and working.

I figured this thread would be hi-jacked already by the crosshair brit lol

If it was a real save load feature then it would be priced about $50 - but to simply save and unlock levels as you go along is pretty damn easy to program - like I said: about 5 min with direction.

And just to be equally arrogant I am NOT lowering MY price! EVER! 'Cause like, dudes, I need a new monitor.

Hang on, hang on, don't get overexcited now.

Can MX load levels from one singe packed FPSC file? Or do you need to save each level as a seperate level?

I'm pretty sure the last thing is the case. Mr.Love claims he has created a save/load menu that allows you to load levels from a one single build game with many levels in it, not from seperate build level exes.

There's a huge difference between the two, a number of us have created menu launchers that do open sepereate exe file, but no one has yet build a menu launcher that can open levels from one build game.

@Benjamin A

Good point, in fact it is the whole point. As many have said, it's easy to write a program in VB or C++ or even HTML that can open separate level exe's. Even to add images and movies like other loader programs is simple for anyone with programming experience.

I wait to see how Mr. Love will make his "load levels from a single exe" work. That should be very interesting... indeed.

Sorry Benji, in That case You missunderstood Me! M.E use single exes too! But You can have many levels in one .exe though. Its very easy to build an executor, but often You got framrate problem and very slow levels! M.E is even a bit faster than without Menu Extreme!

Sorry Wyatt Earp,

I just want to understand Mr. Love.

I know that FPSC can have many levels in one exe, but does your program open these levels from that one exe, or do you have to compile each level to an individual exe to use in your program.

Now I'm confused.....

What exactly does ME do? I understood it this way: You can build 5 levels into one single execute file. You can play level 1 and 2 of that single execute file and stop in level 3. Next time you play, you can just skip level 1 & 2 and goto level 3 directly.

Am I correct or wrong?

Just got back from a vacation and checking emails/forums.

No updates yet, but to answer some questions:

1. Build each level, not one single one.
2. It's free, for whatever you want, commerical or not.

It's nothing special, but an alternative...hopefully will get everything ready soon.

I knew it was free, I meant were we free to use it in commercial projects.
Wyatt Earp,
Sounds good, but still, we need some screenies or maybe even a video of it!

The 5 minute program was written in VisualBasic I presume?

Yes, VB. It's simple and works. I know some of ya guys already did this, but I think it will be beneficial for anyone else.

I'm trying to get together once again with my friend to see what progress was made devloping it further. I also want to make sure it is idiot proof and working correctly without any probs before it is in your hands.

And to make another clarification this one can only load >100000000000000 levels.

i find it funny how wyatt makes no indication that he intends to overthrow mr. Love yet mr. Love still feels threatened.. and if he didnt, he wouldnt have refferred to this as a useless program!

but either way this sounds like a plan... but wont building each level seperately make the filesize go throught the roof?
