Heylo, I got Hexagon 2 yesterday (yey!) Well anyway, when I export a model with its textures as a .obj with the 'UV' box ticked, I load the object into Cinema 4D, and re-apply the textures, they look funky, as though the UV data have gone completely out of the window.

Here are two screenies of what I mean

Textured in H2

Textured in C4D 6

Any ideas why I get this?

thanks

PS:
The model there is Akai from Ronin, body kindly donated by Oddmind, head by Oolite and editing, texturing, bump mapping by me

try looking at the actualy uvmap in c4d and see if its been flipped or something, if its like totally scrambled then maybe the exporters/imports are slightly different.

Hallowed are the ori.

ah yes, I've looked at the two UVMaps, however the UV data was fine, it was the textures that were flipped, so its alright now

So was H2 worth it?

in my opinion, yes, its pretty kewl really, I mean, you can't argue with that texture job, considering it came from a crap texture artist And it is really easy to use (Altough I haven't got the hang of the UVMapper yet)

As you can see I use an old version which I got for £10, which is vers. 6 CE (Meaning export renders are restricted in size), which you can find on the german ebay all the time (Or get CE + off of their website which is £80 and has no restrictions) Personally I'd say its worth the money, if you are thinking of purchasing version 9.6 then I would try the demo, bear in mind that there are three versions, Standard, XL and Studio, the demo version is studio, but if you look at the features in each version you'll know what modules you will or will not be using. I've played with the demo and I think its awesome, plus Hexagon 2 and Cinema 4D seems like a wise mix.

Thanks, I didn't know a whole paragraph would be plain and simple, but I usually give it how I wanna hear it (or how the person wants to hear it) But yeah, I think you'll be satisfied, but the demo should make sure that I'm right or wrong
