Hehe, yes I admit there are no images, no real WIP shown, etc. This is because I don't own a scanner. However, I would feel better just by saying what I'm doing, and what I have found out.

Honestly, this is the first 3D Project I'm actualy putting concept sketches, and math into. I have already found out dimensions for a variety of things. Doors (approx 7x3.5), Floors (8-10 ft in height), Stairs (1 ft high). Well, basically, I haven't even started on interior concepts, but the drawings for the outside are coming along well. For the front, an actual porch with a railing, and a big front room window visible. The porch wraps around to the left side of the house(right if you are facing the front of the house), but it doesn't go all the way back on the side, because there is a space where the basement door is. The right(left if you are facing the front of the house) is very boring, I dunno what I'm going to with it yet. But the back will either have a sunroom or a small-ish closed porch. The inside as I said hasn't even been taken into consideration, but I will post my ideas around it when I get there. It really is a shame that I don't have a scanner...

Well, how does my concept read?

You're asking us what we think about the placement of the rooms you've thought up for your house? No.

I think the porch should be a little bigger, and the interior a little wider. You have some stretching on the entrance to the door, and the windows look 2D. Apart from that... I can't see anything at all...

..yes, I can't see anything at all.

Didn't think I'd get any real feedback. Feel free to ignore this thread until I find a way to upload my sketches. Sorry for the waste of time.

It honestly doesn't matter.

remember that in architecture, Form Follows Function.

I dont see why there needs to be 2 staircases leading to the same point right next to each other. I could understand if it was for stylization or something but i dont think you have anything going except 2 staircases >,>.

Anywho it does look like a nice house, should turn out well.

I noticed that it is bland so far. This is because most of my detail is in the texture for the outside, since its not going to have the same model for the inside as it does for the outside. Adding the detail from my drawings(that you havent seen) during modeling would honestly just be a waste of polygons.

Oh yeah, I started over with the same basic design, but I think its already looking better, and the polygons are being used more wisely. I'll post an update when I get some more work done.

staircases could be optimized. Judging by the wireframes, I see 72 polys per stair case when it could be done with 36. Decent start though.

Yeah, I was planning on cleaning up the stairs after I added details(If I get that far yet, I'm working on my dragon contest entry as well), as well as cleaning up other parts of the house.
