Check out the tutorials that come with 3DS Max, or at least the manual...it goes over all this. Google is your friend as well, just search for 3DS Max tutorials, as these tools are very, very basic and will be used in nearly every tutorial you will find.

Yea, I bought the same book or atleast I spent the same....

Read the thing or atleast the parts I was interested in and it really help to get me started on some of the more complex commands..

Now I am in love with the target weld command and building in poly mode instead of mesh....

But you've already paid over $3000 for 3ds Max, what's a measley $80 more?

I totally agree. $80 is nothing in comparison, especially since you don't want to waste such an investment. To be honest I end up buying a few books on almost every big program.

Sorry, but you've just shot yourself in the foot there. You're going to have trouble making commercial products with it when you've just admitted it's an illegal copy.

On the plus side, I doubt the makers of the software browse these forums. They should though, by the looks of it.

It would be easier to whip out the dreaded liberalism that plaques this world before piracy... Funny, but now that I think about it the two go hand in hand...

They sold it to you illegally. goto autodesk or whoever owns it now and you cannot trade a licence without prior consent from the parent company, even then its really hard to get a licence. illegal period.

clickety clack your full of smack

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 
