I am trying to purchase the platinum membership right now(and later Hexagon 2), and it is requiring me to enter a credit card number even though I'm using a gift certificate. I don't own a credit card myself... can anyone help me out here? I'm also going to contact DAZ, but in the mean time, just curious if anyone here knows what i can do...

Hi Insanity

They do unfortunately require credit card details this is an attempt to put you on to their database should you wish to make any more purchase in the future and also for when your gift or gifts expire then they can charge you for membership. I have had no problems with Daz myself but I cannot see any real way around your problem other than you get a friend or family member to sign up for you.

Sorry mate its your call.

Get a family member that has a credit card and is willing to make the purchases on your behalf. Have them make out the transaction with your name and address as the billing/shipping address and giving your email address.

Heh, that's exactly what I wound up doing... I just filled my cart, logged out, my Dad logged on and filled it all out for me.

I quickly played around with the Hexagon 1.21 demo. Looks good, but seems to be clearly cut for high-poly modelling (what with the subdivivion ethos).

Has anyone tried any lowpoly modelling with it? Any success? Do I have it all wrong?

I have vague plans for World Domination

Hexagon can be used for any kind of modeling high or low,I'm a Silo user which is used by most for subdivision modeling which of course is high poly, but I use it for low poly work mainly.
If you are a novice at modeling it might take you a while to get used to Hexagon2.

A parting comment if you let this offer from Daz go you might well end up regreting it.

@Insanity, surely your brother could burn it to disk, its a normal installer than needs a registrations code which you can find in your Daz 3D account.

Its good for all types, you can regulate how subdivided you want it, turn it up or down, I have my dragon on level 1, and well its only 4/5k so far, I've used too many unessary polies, meaning once I eliminate them that number will go down, its a good turn out and if it is too high poly I can set subdivision to level 0 and it would still look pretty good if I slighty adjust the odd vertices where sharp edges would be found.
