Hi there,

My retro entry is a remake of Tilt! (spectrum version), now called BallsToIt.

I've got a zipped up demo/beta available here..

http://www.angelfire.com/home/lamptonworm/ballstoit-beta2.zip

Its a 1.8mb zip file, extract with folders intact, read the excuse for a readme then run the exe !

If you have any problems please post 'em up and let me know your specs.

Thanks.

Crikey, this is driving me nuts ! On some machines it appears fine and on others there are no balls Please can you let me know your specs/gfx card ? Also, just to triple check, did you download Beta1 or Beta2 ?

Thanks!

p.s. ..brainwave.. I think the invisible player ball syndrome may be something to do with texturing, if I don't texture an object it shows on some systems but not others. I'll put this theory to the test at the weekend and upload a new version to test.

Thanks,

Omg, the game is ok...
I hate how u have to wait for the doors to open,

that ruins the game

Cheers.

That's part of the gameplay, otherwise it would be too easy. Also the harder levels of the orignal Tilt did this

Thanks for trying it. Can I ask what fps you were getting and what system ?

Cheers,

I've got balls!

Game looks good but on fast pc's like mine the speed it too damn fast to control! Consider some sort of speed limiter based on speed of pc.

still no luck. It loads the title screen as soon as I press 1 to start it just goes back to windows. I've tried different screen res's but no luck. Its a pity as this was one of my fave games and the inspiration for my last Div game.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed the full game will run on this heap

Hi,

Please confirm that you are using Beta3 if you're still getting invisible balls! I've had email from people that used to have the "no player ball" bug and they have since replied saying Beta3 has fixed it.

http://www.angelfire.com/home/lamptonworm/ballstoit-beta3.zip

p.s. not sure about the game bombing out when you hit start.. I'll have a think..

Cheers all.

p.s. looks like its solved on some but not others If you don't get a player ball, can you please confirm if you at least get the collectable cyan coloured balls and if the collision is working ?

Thanks in advance

I have no ball but the cyan balls and collsion work with BETA 3. You could release the source code for others to look at as you have to do that to enter the compo anyway.

Hi all,

Right.. I've uploaded Beta4, 1.69mb from..

http://www.angelfire.com/home/lamptonworm/ballstoit-beta4.zip

Please can those with "no balls" try again Thanks for your patience. This version doesn't use any negative lighting, lightmaps etc. just a basic compiled .x file and 1 texture. Hopefully the ball and level look about right in this basic version (crosses fingers) ?

For those who had it working anyway, this version is less flashy.. but I'm trying to get it working across the board.

Hamish, yeah source code to follow soon. But first its a bit of a personal goal for me to conquer it myself if I can. Tame the beast. Oo-er.

Cheers.

Still won't run. Am I doing something wrong... unzip folder and run exe and then press 1 to start game. As soon as I press 1 it just crashes out to windows. ((((

Do I need any other files etc.... ?

If it's not on the list - it wasn't sent to me in time, sorry.

Cheers,
