load image "Sin City.bmp",1
texture backdrop 1
When I use this code why do I get a message saying "command is now obsolete?"
Is it because in the upgraded DBpro it is not used anymore?
If so what do I use in its place?

Use the little search box at bottom of page, specially in the main DBPro forum, and search for 'texture backdrop'. Question has been answered so many times it would be silly to repeat everything again.

Basically that command has been obsolete for years which means you must have been using a REALLY old version.

Boo!

It's more common for a skybox or skysphere to be used these days.
