More uses for FPSC:

1) Picture Gallery. Create a museum type building and use Signs3 or MagicFPS to add all of your family photos as pictures in the museum. Create different rooms or floors for different members of the family. It can be simple with just one exit as the winzone, or as complicated as you like. Add security, food court, bathrooms, etc. Give it out to the family for their enjoyment, and to show what you can do. They may have ideas as well. It might make a good wedding album, anniversary, or birthday gift.

2) Educational Games. Create questions and put them in the game ( signs on the walls, piece of paper on a desk, in pictures, etc ) with answers in multiple choice. The user has to pick the numbered switch that corresponds to the correct answer before they can proceed to the next question or room. Make obstacles and place things in your levels that they must figure out to get to the next level.

3) Showcase. Use you digital camera to get textures of a business/store/factory. Create a virtual business tour where you showcase the company's products/services. We are currently working on one of these for a business client. He intends to give it away as a promo at a trade show.

These are just basic ideas. I'm sure you can expand on them and think of more.

A really good thread idea

4) Portfolio. Combine your 3D model work and 2D texture work into a first person, interactive presentation for those you wish to impress. Burn your game onto a DVD along with a printed cover and mail it to a business you wish to impress. You can also include commentary via sound zones.

I was thinking of making a puzzle jumping game. Like entities moving which you have to jump on, and stuff like that.

2) Educational Games Or even beyond, 3D interactive enviroments/games. I've bought FPSC mainly for that reason. I use FPSC for create a world, where kids can interact with characters and learn something about a certain topic. I between the teaching the kids play mini-games (like searching for certain objects and short puzzles). Once the kids have gone through the complete world, a test is done at the end to see what they have learned.

When I first presented the idea, some people laughed, but it is completely possible, I've finished one title by now for a non-for-profit organisation and it will be released during or after summer.

This is a great thread; don't forget:

6 An excellent prototype engine when working with another larger engine (for an FPS). People can quickly map out level ideas, and interact with them to see how things might look.

if you think about it a "game" can be an extremely high level of encryption. Whose going to look in a game for something important?

You would have to know right where to look to get the (proper) information. It would be far safer than a simple password. You could bury tons of information in textures and meshes.

Dont tell the NSA though. They might start looking.

I believe society is flawed; our notions on life, on child rearing, stem too far back to be of relevance in this day and time.
