I'm using the free release of Tempest, and it isn't working. I've enabled ports 3998 and 3999 for forwarding on my router. One big question I have is: the thost command takes 3 arguments - ip$,maxplayers, username$. maxplayers and username$ are self-explanatory, but what is ip$?

I'm operating from behind a router, so I have a local IP (LAN IP) and an IP for my network (WAN IP).

I've tried using LAN IP, WAN IP, my router's local IP, and "127.0.0.1" for that argument. WAN IP makes thost return a 0 for failure, and none of the others allowed a client (accross the internet, not across the LAN) to connect using my WAN IP. Do I need to add ":port" to the end of ip$ or something?

TIA

The IP that you want to listen for data on. If you're on a LAN then use your LAN IP. If clients can't connect to you then either one of you has a firewall stopping data from getting through, or you haven't set up port forwarding correctly.
