Hi all,
when doing 2D stuff is there a big difference in DB Pro and DB classic? If so, what advantages does DB pro give me in 2D?

Only problem I found is collision isn't pixel perfect.

I found DBPro is faster in 2D than DBClassic

Not only that, but I find using 3D in 2D games can give some great enhancements to the gameplay and DBPro combines the two better than Classic. Jetpac and a game my brother and I are working on for release soon both combine 2D and 3D and the result greatly increases the impact of 'old format' games. Pro is well worth it.

Well that other game was Episode V: Battle for Hoth which is now available for download (on WWW button below).

The other clear difference is the interface, DBClassics editor sucks, Pro's editor is nice - that might not sound like as much but afterall it is the thing you are constantly staring at whilst you work...

You can get a version of the DBP editor for DBC, but it is an earlier version.

Also the mousewheel works in DBP editor

I hate the sprites in DBP because they are blurred.

That's because you aren't loading the images right.

Add an extra ,1 to load image or get image and they won't be blurred
