You really don't want to buy gameSpace, unless you want to have a lot of frustration. GameSpace has even more broken and not correctly working features then FPSC has. But for FPSC there are work arounds, for gameSpace there are hardly none.

I've used it for over a year and it's a nightmare. It's good for static objects, but as soon as you try to animate models and bring them into any game engine, the trouble starts. I dumped it after a year of frustration.

For static objects you can get much better and cheaper or even free software.

Also from what I've heard it doesn't work to well with FPSC, read their forum and you will see topics on it and unresolved issues when trying to get your models into FPSC.

I can't believe they're selling the bundle, Caligari knows using gameSpace with FPSC is having issues.

Thanks, I did enjoy the prices indeed. But.... you really don't know how much effort it was to get the animated models created in gameSpace into the game engine used for the old version of Commander Josh. I did already use gameSpace already before winning this price, so I did end up with trueSpace 6.6 instead, even nicer. Soon after this competition I gave up using the game engine and gameSpace, way to much frustration.

But in the end, switching to FPSC saved Commander Josh and I was finally able to complete the gamehttp://www.gamefun4u.nl/page9.html

I'd like to echo Ben's assertions of GameSpace. If all you want to make is static objects, and/or learn 3D Modeling; then by all means, go for GameSpace...it is a good stepping stone. But the unresolved issues (like exporting .X animations, etc.) will eventually drive you to another app.
