1. I just got blender, and it works ok.
2. When it runs, there is a command prompt window that stays open. Is that normal?
3. In the window it sais "using pythin 2.4. `import site` failed; use -v for trackback.

4. It wont let me save or open.

Please help me!!!

Has it got anything to do with the fact that the file you're trying to load is a .3ds? I thought you can only load .blend files. To load an object of a different format, you have to import. Try importing it instead.

I'm clitching at straws here-it all worked fine for me. I've never tried the 3ds importer though. Some of the importers and exporters are dodgy-have you tried other formats?

Have you also tried the blender forums? They're probably more specialised.

The other option is to reinstall.

Has the load/save ever worked, or has it just stopped recently?

Ok. I just downloaded blender yesterday because many people said it was great and just takes a while to load. Im going to try another format...

Wow. I was able to import .raw format. Thanks. I think maybe the .3ds importer is just bugged. Do i need to install python though?
