Is it possible to make an RPG in FPS Creator?

An open-ended game? Dialogue boxes? Decisions that affect the levels in the game?

Think Deus Ex and you're along the right lines.

There is a Plr Stats mod in the FAQ (under source mods)

It hasn't been called FPS Creater just for fun.... while a RPG will be possible, you're going to have to do a lot of work to even get it open ended and create decisions that affect the levels in the game.

FPS wasn't created for it, so you're looking at creating a lot of new scripts. I've created some kind of Dialogue boxes, that's the easy part..... if I don't forget, I'll post a link later, go to go now.

also don't forget its linear nature; you can never go back to a previous stage, plus there is a 50 level limit, so you would be making an awfully short rpg.

JEEZ!You people just STFU! You waste more space complaining about people wasting space than the people your bashing! Man, I thought I had no life.

Here's the dialog box script link: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=65207&b=23

You can edit it to make it work as you want it to be. As for the rest, you're on your own.

Bar Melee combat, FPSC would be pretty decent at building an RPG world - but the RPG elements themselves might be best possible with a modded engine. The engine source code is available, if I was doing this I'd use FPSC as a level designer, and expand on the engine to support what I need, strip out what I don't, change level handling to suit, heck, add advanced terrain support too!.

I hope you have a couple of clever friends to help you - it's not easy, but I expect that you knew that already.
