Well, I've taken the plunge and started modeling charactars. Here is a Pic of a girl that I'm working on ATM. Sorry, no, "female" body features yet, and still have to sort through google immage search and find someone whos hot enough to use as the texture, and still have to do a little work on the face, but, hell, for a first charactar, I'd say its pretty good.

Looks nice for a first character, but a few pointers.

1) The body is too square. The shoulders should be quite wide, then the body should go in, like a v (only less pointy). It should then widen again at the hips.

2) Women have these things on their chests called breasts.

3) Look at some pics of women with and without clothes. If possible, find a modelling reference to trace. It's also worth noting the differences (other than the obvious) between the female and male body. At the moment, yours looks too male.

What modeller did you use?

Yea... I know they have things called breasts (oh boy do I ). But as I said, no female features yet.

Now that you point it out, it is too square. Sorry, clotheless is impossible (stupid parrents), but yea. Just a WIP.

I don't mean study porn, you know!

3d.sk

Most of the models there are in modelling poses. Hardly porn. If that's still out of the question, go here.

Human Tutorial

The naked concept for this is a drawing. I don't ecommend tracing it-I had to completely redo the legs because they're in awkward positions. The tutorials nice too. It's for high poly, but it models in low poly first. I found it very useful.
