What did you want it to do?

If you're dealing with character entities, DarkAI can do pretty much whatever you want. It's a very flexible command set, and very efficient. You can take control of as much of the system as you want to.

The only reason I didn't enter the competition was because I don't want to get distracted from my own project, even though it uses DarkAI.

Well heres my entry so far:

Its only the map editor at the moment, the rest of the game isnt working correctly yet, although I do have something working.

WORLD - A free World editor, capable of creating the most complex of worlds (including physics, skies, water, shaders, terrain editing and more). Best of all, it's FREE!

* be able to have "all against all" battles in an Deathmatch Game
* be able to look down a balcony without walls, but still not be able to walk (fall) down that end
* i got it working together with newton pretty well, but not how i expected. newton got v. confused.

You could make a half-height obstacle, and delete the visible object

That is tough, but maybe you could emulate it by switching the AI of the characters frequently so they are all "enemies" at one stage or another. It would also force them to move around more and switch targets. For example, when a character defeats someone, randomly pick wheher he becomes friendly, enemy or neutral.

Maybe a stupid question but just to make sure, Is the deadline at the beginning of the day or at the end? GMT?

I have some bugs that need ironing out before I submit, want to know how much time I have left.

The usual process is that the games get collated first thing the following day after the deadline. Officially you get until 11:59 pm GMT.

Sounds like batvink and I are the only ones entering and maybe Chenak and BB king so I may defiantly get a prize because I know mine stinks. Not that that is really a good thing on not many people entering.

Edit: Looks awesome Batvink good job

interesting, but wouldn't that make them think that there is a wall there, and so they will try to duck to avoid the bullets?

my entry is here incase anybody want to see it:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=84814&b=8

Man I can't enter, theres so many bugs I can't fix, can't tell if they are mine, dark AI's or NGC's... grrr. I got random things falling through floors, AI running to random locations, AI that apparently are blind, animations jumping random frames and shaders randomly turning on and off. It will take at least a month to fix this mess

Too bad, Chenak. Maybe you can finish it anyway and post it up later as your first completed project.

So the deadline has been and gone. Is anyone else going to admit to entering this competition? I remember previous compos when there were 80 or 90 entries.

If there is only two entries then who gets the third prize.

Maybe everyone spent there money on dark physics instead of getting dark ai to win dark physics

There were 3 entries in the end - and 3 prizes, which is pretty cool (I thought there was going to be 1 entry until last week)

I've emailed those 3. Possibly the easiest bit of hardware you've ever won

The games will be in the October newsletter.

Cheers,

Rich

They reckon forums have many times more lurkers than contributors, so it could be someone we have never heard of. Right now, 30% of the people viewing are people I've never seen post.

As it's an open source compo, let's hope they blow us away with a fantastic implementation of AI

Take a wild guess if I only got Dark physics (i never put a lot of effort in my entry anyway was busy working on other things).

If I enter the Dark Physics compo I think I am going to have to put more effort in my entry
