yes and no

yes, you can extract them, convert them, and they will fit into fpsc

no, models have too many polys for fpsc, wich will make fpsc unplayable
no, farcry modesl, textures, sounds, etc are all copyrighted, using them outside farcry is against the law, and has 3years jail sentence and something about 750€ thats you'll have to pay...

My love is seperated in 2 parts, 1 of them is 3ds Max 7, the other; FPSC.

Like Pallmanni said.

FACT
YOU CAN'T GET IN ANY TROUBLE IF YOUR NOT MAKING MONEY OUT OF IT.

There is even a Far Cry modding section on the official Far Cry website.

You can still get in trouble for copyright infringement even if you dont make any money from it. Think about it> giving away someones work for free injures them even more. Then they cant sell it.

A lot of media companies dont mind people playing with their characters, Lucasarts, for example. If you try to do more than fan fiction you could still wind up in court.

get this:

EVERY BIG COMPANY IN THIS DAMM GREEDY WORLD, with their massive UBER 1337 games, have all their game contents copyrighted

that means, you can't use any stuff from that game, outside it

google for any info on the SW mod for UT2k3/4 and then search for its history, you will find some interesting stuff

heres some small info on this specific case: that team, started making an SW style mod for ut2k3 (the mod would look like sw: battlefront), they made their own models, their own textures, and their own sounds, after around 2 months n half of hard work, the teams lider received a letter to go to court, since he was breaking the copyright from lucasarts, it took around 6 full months to free up and continue the mod, but, the teams lider payed nice quantity of money to those greedy b***

the team wasn't evan using the models from the latest game from lucas, jedi academy

-----

so as you see, some companies take this real serious~, if i were you, i would forget that idea, and google for free models, theres billions of free models on the internet

My love is seperated in 2 parts, 1 of them is 3ds Max 7, the other; FPSC.

Id be carefull even with alot of the "free" stuff on the web. I mean its grat to play with but I bet the copyright owners werent consulted in many cases.

Buy model packs or make it, its that simple.

Last time I checked using any media that has a copywrite for any purpose is against the law. I am not sure about international law but I would imagine that in most cases it sits along side the US copywrite laws.

*example*
A company can put limitations as ID software did or they can go the route of the quake engine (8000 for an engine you can not use unless it is for a training game for quake, or modding) You can not use the quake engine to produce meida, entertainment, games (I know entertainment and game ssound close but are different)you can not make a game for personal use or for commercial use either.

So the safest alternative is to get a modeling program and tinker with it until you learn it. then create you own models/media/
