Just curious, does anyone know how long it took to develop FPS Creator?

3 years in total from original concept to finished product, although that isn't 3 years of solid development. A large amount of time was creating all of the art and models.

I would assume around (lets see, 3 divided by five plus ... that's uh) maybe around 1 week assuming he had written down the concept of what everything does, and how he would do it. It might of taken longer or a shorter amount of time, depending on how you look at it.

I think that since Lee created it, I would have to assume that he would be able to program faster than any of us could, and since he most likely knows all of the commands, and was able to Make DBC, DBP, DGSDK, (the 3d gm?), And a .DBO format, he wouldnt really need to stop, unless nature called, or he got tired, or needed to do something.

What I wanna know is, why didnt they tell me I could get his product at Fry's Electronics, then, and not have to pay shipping and handlin?! (I got FPSC there, but made the mistake of not looking for DBP the first time.)

I have the BEST signature ever! I bet you cant guess what it is!

Someone show that to Lee quick!

I reckon Lee probably put in over 1500 coding hours, and he wasn't working alone, application like FPSC don't just write themselves.

If you haven't written a FPS game creator before, then writing one is a slow process, there's hundreds of factors to consider and develop - that's the thing, it's not that he could save time because he doesn't need to look at the help, it's probably more that the experience with T3DGM made him aware of what issues to expect.

VanB beat me to it... I would say on average the time a 'experianced' person spends coding and an inexperianced person spends coding is about the same... it is concept design and bug squashing that you spend the most time on.
