save 450 more and buy an PS3

My personal opinion? Save around 20+ for DBP. Then get FPSC for learning purposes...

If you're ready to delve into coding and programming (with a fairly easy edge), then, As Merranvo said, save the money for DBP--since DBC, although good, lacks many options that DBP has, and DBP has plug-ins, huge support, updates, and the works.

If you just want to do things easily and without coding, go for FPSC. You're limited to possibilities, but it's just plain easy. You can also script .fpi's for FPSC, which can lead the way into using DBP more effectively.

i would download the demo of both and see which one is more appealing to you.

i'm pretty sure dbpro is more than $50.00 unless the price dropped, but if you want to learn programming, i suggest buying that.
