While cleaning up my DBP game media directories I stumbled across the model for Colonel Z and I wondered if anyone had a list of the animations and the keyframes that they started/end on.

For those that don't remember the good Colonel, you can find a recent picture of him here...

Or find some of the files temporarily here...

FM looks like an interesting tool. I like the types of file formats that it imports and exports. It imported the Colonel Z model just fine (it doesn't like TGA, but that's very minor.) Unfortunately, it can only tell me that there is 963 frames of animation at 30 FPS. More than I knew before, but far less than I need to use the model in a game.

The only way to find the keyframes AFAIK is to manualy drag the animation slider while watching the model animate,it should give a good indication of the start and end of each ani sequence.

True, but someone had to have originally created the model and would know the answer without a lot of mucking about. [Well, at least that's what I was hoping for...]

Then you should try contacting TGC they would be the only people to know that, they may have a text version of the model.

That's a good idea. Perhaps I'll post a message in the 3d chat forum.

Very funny,I was suggesting emailing TGC.

BTW you did'nt really think that by posting in the forum is contacting the TGC did you?

No, I was just trying to tap the info base of the regulars first before bugging TGC. MikeS suggested talking to Simon at TGC, but neither of us could find any contact info on him. So, I sent an e-mail up the chain. Just patiently waiting on a reply. I'll post what I learn here as well.

The official word is that they don't know. The specific info has been lost to the sands of time so the only recourse is to play the animations and annotate them appropriately.
