cool, I got the email informing me of it too It says stability is greatly enchanced, so hopefully in 2.2 it'll be completely stable like 1.2

I also noticed that it looks like they have a demo version for users to try out now.

I noticed that one too, I like how they've fixed some things, like one of my problems;

Quote: "When importing from and exporting to OBJ, texture images can be flipped to match the representation of images in other 3D programs."

However the same thing happened with .3ds, but I'll never use .3ds in Hexagon, because .obj I think is a lot better to use (As it keeps square polygons)

I'm really enjoying Hex... I just completed the obligatory Camera model, part of it using 2.01, part completed today on 2.1. Although I had one or two crashes throughout and a couple of slowdowns, I think it's fairly stable.

Next week I'll be on holidays and, as the sad git I am , I'm taking the laptop and will try to get deeper into Hex 2.1 and Carrara 5.1.

I have vague plans for World Domination

Did it crash before you used the 2.1 patch or after?

Crashed before 2.1, can't quite remember what I was doing. Also got a strange behaviour when capping a radial extrusion on 2.01 (haven't tried it since), it seemed to cap the outward bit rather then the inner one. Oh, and the model disappeared on me once (reloaded and was ok) pre-2.1.

Hex will freeze my computer if I push the smoothing too high (over 4 notches) and very occasionally when switching on occlusion (on 2.1 too). I guess this is to be expected due to the enormous ongoing calculations, and probably isn't a bug. Since I don't really need any of these things it's ok. Best €25 I spent in a long time... also joining daz platinum allowed me to get Carrara 5.1 for €100 more, which is a bargain.

yeah hex 2.0 crashes running osx 10.4.6 with smoothing over 4 if you take a big jump from say 1 to 6

on the mac 2.0 version the sweep and extrude buttons fail with symmetry on but you can still use the pulldown menu.

going to try 2.1 this weekend
