And if anyone else is short - I'm launching another website in a month or two so I've plenty of bandwidth available at least until then.

I tested this game and it seems to run at sync rate 0 or something because on my PC it's so fast it's one massive blur and as such is unplayable. You might want to run it in full-screen exclusive mode with a sync rate of 60 or something.

Cheers,

Rich

Make sure you have it syncing correctly or it won't play right for a lot of people. Adding a pause function to the end of the loop sounds a bit dodgy, it could end up stuttering along on other pcs. And for a racing game you really need a good smooth frane rate.

Did you read the readme? You might not be pressing the accelerate button (num2)

I can't get the cart to move either. I have pressed every key and read the readme but no luck. Plus the music crackles and burps at me but I think thats my wonderful audigy card being as reliable as usual.

Maybe I am missing something but 2 or Z z doesn't seem to have any effect. and the kart starts oddly to the left of the track.... ??

I was gonna go edit the code to try and fix it but the prg ooops dba file seems to only contain the title page part but I could be missing something.

i think whats happnd is that the game crashed b4 the cart is put into position, and before the sync on command is used. There is another dba (subs.dba) whhich contains most of the subs. The problem also sometimes happens to me if i change the screen mode. Im redownloading the file to see if
there has been a transfer error.

do u mean that the cart starts at the top left hand corner of the track area?,
or does it start on the grass just to the left of the starting line?

The game works fine for me. Make sure you have your NUM lock key on, and are using the '2' on the keypad (not above the W). However, it is clear that the sync rate is either at 0 or turned WAY up high, and the game is very close to un-playable on my computer (Pentium 4 2.4 GHZ, 512 DDR Ram, Geforce 4 GTS) and when I hit a speed or jump or whatever, I go tooooo fast . A texture on the main player would have been a plus as well, but good job anyways

hmmm. the fps should be around 260, as i set the sync rate to 250.
Open up the main code, and in the sub routine "textmake" in subs.dba
make text to give the screen fps. Also search for the command sync rate, i may have posted the wrong version (hopefully not). If sync rate is 250, and thed fps is to high then there is a problem with the sync command. Also rich, does it work for you as thats whats most important.
