I started today with this raptor model. The mesh is almost complete with exception of its head (I will be working on that soon).

After finishing the mesh I will do the texturing ...

EDIT: posted a new screenshot (just a bit thiner).

Its a really nice start, but he is quite fat. I would scale his turso down a bit, then fix the verts that get distorted.

Yes it is a bit fat, also...

Scaled reptiles have some creases. This is round, but should be a bit, sort of triangular, but with four sides, I don't know what shape that is. Just edged a bit.

Looks very easy to adapt into a perfect model.

Normal or Bump maps can add all the major detail and save on the poly count. Which is the best way to do it, if its for a game, but if its for an animation, you could add the detail to the model.

New screenshot: the model on the left is the low-poly one and the model on the right has one level of smooth applied.

Now I will move to the texturing stage.

Your model has the body looking great, but the head is not right. Look at this model, and the head looks concave at the sides. The position of the eye is more forward as well. However they did not get the body as good as your version.

I see. I will modify the head then ... thanks for the comments.
