Hi, folks. I'm having some difficulty getting stairs to work right in FPSC. I can place the stairs where I want them to start just fine, but it's figuring out where the second floor goes that's giving me problems. Here's what I've tried that hasn't worked:

1. Putting the 2nd floor on the level above the stairs, on top of the stairs;

2. Putting the 2nd floor on the level above the stairs, adjacent to the stairs.

3. Putting the 2nd floor on the same level as the stairs, above them.

4. Putting the 2nd floor on the same level as the stairs, adjacent to them.

When I do #1 and #2, I end up climbing the stairs to hit a "floor ceiling" (i.e., the floor is like a level ceiling). When I try #3 and #4, I end up in open space.

Can some of you gurus help a poor noob out here? Thankee.

You want to select the "Paint floor" icon (its along to toolbar somewhere) and right click on a floor segment, this will delete it. You can now select your stairs and place the over the hole. Go down a level to the floor of 1st floor and place them. They will now start at 1st floor and lead up to the second.

hope that helps,
AE

That did the trick. Thanks, Eagle!
