I am currently making a billboard for FPS. It will be free and for free and commercial use.

I cannot find anything to help me texture. No good tutorials that really help. Can someone please help me get this finished so everyone can use it? A tutorial would be nice. Peace.

Black your not even saying what your modeling in. Theres many progs people on these forums use, and there all worlds apart. Basically texturing isnt going to be function of these forums, although bond1 has a nice video on how he textures for 3dmax....version 7 I belive cause he didnt hit on pelt mapping at all, and thats a great function of ver8. I'd suggest using google and the documentation that came with whatever prog you use.

Psionic has a good tutorial that shows you how to texture map a building in Milkshape, should help you out some.

http://www.psionic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorials/lowpoly/msmap.html

Scarecrow also has a good one here;

http://www.planetfortress.com/tf2models/tuto/ms3d_sc/tuto_ms3d_sc3.htm

Christian Strang shows you how to load a texture into Milkshape;

You can also find a boat load of useful Milksahpe tutorials at this polygods.com mirror site.

@ Black Terror,

Your very welcome

@ Pallmanni,

Very true, but they are nothing compared to the VMT's that 3dbuzz offers. IMO

@ KIWIDOGGIE

You'll find some great VTM's at 3dbuzz, you will have to register (Yes it's 100% FREE) then stroll on over to the video training link at the top of the page. 3d buzz has over 1.5gigs of video tutorials.

It takes time and lots of patience BT, don't give up on it. I'm sure there are at least a few people here that will help you get a good grip on how to texture.

black terror, i can help, u just wanna texure right, if your having
trouble textureing in milk shape, use the entity maker, make you sign, then go to the text fpe that comes out, and retype the bit in the texture line, and add the destenation for your texture, very easy
don't count on it for higher res polys though, and it will show up fine in the game.
but when ur scripting the fpe, remember to make the texture destination only start from the texture bank -example-
texture bank/user/wat-ever.bmp best to copy the text from the header up the top of the window.

um kiwi doggie, black is trying to texture, you just use signs 2.

ok black i have use milkshape before and made some embarasing stuff,
but like some one siad before it will be easer to use the enity maker and ad texture there, becuse if you are thinging about making it fpsc ready you are either going to have to do it the long way, or just use that program
