Hi all,

We have decided to extend the Retro Game Competition to allow you to finish off during the weekend of the 5th/6th April. Originally the deadline was the 4th but we recognise the fact that most of you work on your games in your free time and as such would benefit greatly from the extra 48 hours. So that's what you've got.

Send everything to me on Monday the 7th (or before if you like) and please, no questions about "what timezone?!". If it's not in my mailbox when I check it by Monday lunch time (1pm GMT) then it's not in the competition.

For details how to submit your game see here http://www.darkbasic.com/newsletter/update1/

Thank you to everyone who has sent their games so far - if you wish to use this extra time then feel free to re-submit your entry.

Cheers,

Rich

That's really great! x-d

Cause I'm just starting now. Well, it's still not going to be easy to do in less than a week. Especially since it's my first DBP project (I've just downloaded the demo last saturday and my full copy is in the mail from amazon).

So I stayed up ALL weekend and didn't sleep until 1am this morning (then a few hours later I went back to work) and you give us an extra 48 hours anyway?

Thanks Yellow, it's pretty darn cool as far as MMOG's go, it'l put the others to shame..

As far as the comp goes.. I can after tonights work say I will definately be done in time now thanks to the extension, bar a couple of things I don't have progs or answers for, talking of which..

Rich will the old DB V1 commands for coding your own object animation within DB be re-introduced some time or have they gone for ever, I ask as I liked using them and found them easier to use and implement than other progs, Oh how I miss them.. Maybe I'm missing some new commands or something real easy (quite possible) for them, but the ones I once used became redundent within DBP originally and obviously don't work in DBP. If my entry comes without player animation you'l know I havn't cracked a way to do coded animation in frames, Hm maybe I could make an animation program within DB V1 and utilise these commands then save the files to use in DBP, would that work? wouldn't beable to get that done in time fo rthe comp but it sounds viable for a project to do this year.. has anyone done this already?
