I recently got some 3D glasses in the mail, and I was looking for stuff to use them on (I know, sounds lame). Then, I thought "What if I made a room with red and blue lights in FPS Creator"? So I did, and I filled it with boxes and stuff for added effect.

IT FREAKIN' WORKS!!!

It takes some effort to get the brightness right, but the boxes pop out like normal 3D! It doesn't work once you turn around though, because the colors switch.

Here's a screen shot and the map (no custom stuff):

Now I'm off to make a fully 3D FPS!

you know, if you put a partly transparent hud image on each side, it would work wherever you went, facing whatever direction.

uhh... 3D glasses work because you see 2 images. you don't just randomly put red and blue together to create an image.

Yes, I know. 3D images work by overlapping 2 images (1 image for each eye). So this isn't actual sterioscopic 3D, but I think sence the lights give depth by adding shadows it has the same kind of effect. Every one I showed it to says it works, so I can't be crazy (I hope).

Can someone with 3D glasses confirm that this works? Somebody out there must be as much of a nerd as I am.

3D is overlapping three images. you need an image for each eye and a main image for you to focus the other two images off of. this allows you to see all of it's dimensions.

Yep Merranvo is right, I went through a "3D Stage" where I was facinated with it, I did loads of studying and then started making my own anaglyph images, it is just 2 images with overlapping in red/blue, and still coloured in the middle done with a mix effect to keep th origional colours as well as the Red and Blue around the outline.

Yeah, it only two pictures. I've been making some 3D pictures, and all you do is take two pictures side by side (with the lenses about where your eyes are). Then you give the left a red hue and the right a blue hue and overlap them (can be done with photoshop).

The red/blue lights in FPSC act the same as the red/blue hue on the pictures, but the lights also cast shadows. All you need to make sterioscopic pictures is hue because the shadows are already in the pictures, but sence the lights are making shadows it works the same way.

I took some more screenshots. I also found out that it works alot better if you make the rooms almost purple with the red/blue lights.

The download is the rest of the pictures in a zip file.
