3 Dimensional Chat / [3d max] weild vertexes then mesh smooth problem

I was trying to model a dinasour, i modeled the half
of it and mirrored it then weilded the center vertexes
it looked fine but when i applyed mesh smooth it bacame
messy.
whats the problem?!

you obviously didnt weld them all, or you left the polys inside the spine, to fix this just delete all faces inside the spine then select by verts(assuming both are attached) then select all verts along the spine, on the modifiers tab find the weld/selected bit, select a number like 1 or or something and press the selected button and it should weld all the spine nice and fast or you can do it manually.

there might be some polies where both parts should meet .
