That application contains adware/spyware.Try Stoik Video Converter.
You might want to get the older version. The latest one has more restrictions on it.

No need for a converting tool.

1. Open Movie Maker 2
2. Import your .wmv video file (or open a current movie maker 2 project file)
3. Drag and drop that file into the timeline/storyboard
4. On the left-side of the screen and in the Finish Movie section, click on Save to My Computer.
5. Give it a name and location.
6. In the Movie Settings Window, choose the 3rd radio button labeled Other Settings. That activates a drop-down menu. From that menu choose DV-AVI (NTSC).
7. Let it render and you'll have an .AVI file.

Hope that helps.

Zeus... 4 posts, 2 links that are "bad", 1 moderator. And YOU are the only one who actually bothers to run WMM? lol.

I was just about to post the same thing...

Merranvo,

Dont laugh but I run WMM.

Although I have and use numerous other video editing progs I still use both WMM and Microsofts Windows Media Encoder for its ability to output Windows format Video and Audio to extremely high resolutions.

Hey, say what you will about Movie Maker 2, but you can't argue with free

I use it with students all the time. It's perfect for basic video editing. Low learning curve and quick to produce a useable video.

Another excellent (and free) Microsoft product is Photo Story 3. If you haven't seen this yet, it's a must download. So easy to quickly take photos or .wmv files and make a story complete with music, titles, effects, transitions, etc. Just Google it for the download link.

BTW, if you haven't seen them yet, Google MM3 or Windows Vista Movie Maker to see some really interesting details about the new version. Direct to DVD, MPEG-2 & MPEG-4 rendering, and HD DVD WMV format. It'll give the likes of Pinnacle and Ulead a run for their money on entry level video editors.
