Newcomers DBPro Corner / cant texture trees randomly in for next loop

heres my code,i instanced the trees but for some reason this code wont work & im not sure why.

all of my trees are textured the default texture.

any ideas??

Er, you are testing rantextree, not rantextree#

i have randomize at the beginning of my code btw.

Have you put in a Randomize Timer() line in at the start of the program? Might help.

I just tried

and different cases do get selected.
Have you also made certain that the textures are loaded ok?

1. is it inside a loop?

2. are u texturing the trees again afterwards?

If trees are instanced you can't texture any of the instances with different textures, that's the idea of instances, they share all the same info as source object.

Try not instancing them and you will find it will work.

If you only have three different textures, then simply have 3 source trees and instance them randomly
