As most of you know by now, I'm running some special deals on this forum once in a while. The latest one you can check out here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=82018&b=25

FredP missed the last deal by 3 days, so I've decided to run a poll, seemed like fun to me. If you think FredP should still (even though he was 3 day late) get a special deal vote YES.

If you think FredP has no right to that special deal, vote NO.

Please vote only YES or NO to keep this thread organized.

MODS: if this isn't allowed then please do get rid of the thread. If it's allowed please do cast your vote also.

Yeah, this thread isn't a "waste of space".

Don't you dare post and question mod behavior. Don't you dare post requesting information about bug fixes. But hey, go ahead and post as many polls related to peddling your merchandise as you like.

What a joke.

Speaking of FredP…

Quote: "There are two threads in the Models and Media section. One is to post your free stuff and the other is to post commercial stuff."
--thread subsequently locked of course.

My vote? No. Anyone who cannot moderate a forum with some degree of consistancy shouldn't get diddly-squat for free.

Did these "many others" actually buy Benjamin's game?

Quote: "Don't you dare post and question mod behavior"

I'm not sure what you're getting at; are you talking about the threads that have started up with the sole purpose of starting a "flamewar"?

Quote: "Don't you dare post requesting information about bug fixes"

You can request information on bug fixes all you want; the Board is called Bug Reports.

Your right, Keith. And there is a board a person can peddle all the merchandise they want on...it's called Models and Media.

But once again, the point is missed. This thread has absolutely nothing of value to offer the FPSC community in terms of help, support, use, and design of anything FPSC. And yet, other threads that exhibit the exact opposite of this one are immediately locked.

That, my friend, is a problem. The only logical conclusion one can draw from this and other examples is a complete and utter lack of integrity, consistency, common sense in forum moderation. How in the world can this kind of nonsense help to make the forum "more stable" as uman puts it?

I don't see this thread as "peddling merchandise" at all; it seems that Ben is asking a question of the members here.

Threads that are locked here, are locked because they violate the forum rules in some way. All you seem to do here is nit-pick everything, how is that helpful?

Time for an excerpt from Merranvo’s Public Dictionary:

Forum Polls:
Forum polls are ways of creating long lasting threads which makes the original poster more popular. The polls typically don't affect the final decision unless the person is both willing and able to follow through.

And my vote. No, it isn't that I wouldn't love to let Fred have the lee way, but rules are rules... it is close being three days and I understand that leeway should be acceptable.

Eitherway, it is your decision and your sale... we cannot make that for you.

Jesus, I give up! This isn't about Ben's thread. It's a good thread. It's a fun thread. It's useless in terms of offering anything of value to people who need help or ideas with FPSC, but it's a community building thread, which in my opinion are good types of threads.

However…the mods have made it abundantly clear that posts that go "off topic" will be locked and are considered "waste of space". This thread certainly qualifies...yet it remains unlocked. Is it a coincidence that this thread has something to do personally with a mod? Gee, I wonder.

Nit-picking? Sure, why not. If you say so. You are a "mod" after all so it must be true.

I give up. It's hopeless. There is a prevailing "Us Four and No More" mentality that exists from the top down with anything FPSC and one of the hardest groups in the world to change is a good-old boy's club. Unless there is significant change in this mentality, both at TGC and with those who moderate the online community, FPSC will forever remain small and insignificant.

Very unfortunate.

I think you've got the wrong idea, Mr. Useless; try reading the thread from the beginning.

Quote: "I give up"

Great idea.

Quote: "However…the mods have made it abundantly clear that posts that go "off topic" will be locked and are considered "waste of space"."

I didn't see this thread go off topic until you started complaining about everything.

Quote: "Unless there is significant change in this mentality, both at TGC and with those who moderate the online community, FPSC will forever remain small and insignificant."

I highly doubt that.

One way or another this thread is doomed to closure - If no other Mod does so I will lock or delete it and any other threads thereafter which contain content intended to debate either TGC Management with respect to the development of the Product or the Mods Management of the forums respectively to the detriment of either.

It has been said and I will reiterate again that forum members wont be allowed to dictate to TGC or the Mods how things should be done in relation to the product or the forums and if I personally act as a Moderator in a way that TGC disagrees with I am sure they will let me know.

If this behaviour continues I will consider taking more severe action against those ignoring the request to stop this.

There are only a few people here who are suggesting that Fred is getting a deal because he is a MOD; and Ben isn't one of them. Where does he say that Fred's getting a second chance because he's a MOD?

Do you think ben would have started a thread about this if fred wasnt a mod?? i would say no, the reason he is getting this attention is just because he is a mod.. ben should just let him have the... whatever it was...

From the sounds of that last statement, you are just here to argue; maybe because you feel that Fred treated you badly.

First of all...
Skycubes,I did not lock that thread.I don't know who did but it wasn't me.I was making a point. The thread was not locked by me.
Please read the very bottom of the page.Scroll all the way down to the very bottom and read.
I am done with the mod debates. We are doing what we are doing for the good of the entire FPSC community.A few people may want the old forums where you could just run wild and run off everybody.
Guess what...that's too bad.
This thread is locked.Uman had already posted what will happen if there is any more of this foolishness.
