if anyone is thinking of makeing a fan game thay should check out vgmusic it a web site with hundreds of game sound tracks but unfortantly there all in midi so if you want to use them you will need a converter I was going to use them for my ico fan game but I'm not makeing that anymore

here's what 30secs with Magix 10 can do, see DL

It's .OGG but .OGG are small files and sound OK at 128 Bit,

BTW sound effects are even easier,

oh something different since my game has an old feel about it I would like the music to be like the music you get in very old films if you cant do that a theme tune would be nice oh and what I would really like is a back beat tune that I could play in the back ground and when the action start I could start playing a more up beat version. So a theme tune a less powerful (sorry I’m not using music terms but I know nothing about music) version of the theme tune and one or two pieces of level music please

Just kidding.

I use Sony's Jamtrax software to make music for my games.
Here is a link to lots of free software, trials and demos from Sony.
Try making your own music, because you might enjoy it.

Have fun!


Edit
I use Audacity v1.2.4 to convert the WAV files into OGG Vorbis.
I like the OGG format the best.

Check the license, as far as I can see, you're not allowed to use the music from that site in your games at all, unless you pay for it.
