I'm not quite sure exactly what Max's license is. It may well be possible that you are legally unable to distribute your previously purchased version, in any way.
However, I haven't really inquired about it--that is something you should always do before you plan to distribute or sell anything that costs as much as Max--I mean, copyright is skewed nowadays; I tried to get a wedding photo reprinted at a local camera store, only to be told it was under copyright by the photographer and doesn't expire until 50 years after the photographer dies. After only 25 years of marriage, I couldn't exactly say that he died 25 years before the photo was taken
