If anyone could donate me an ****ALREADY MADE IF YOU HAVE ONE AROUND**** animated character that has a weapon, that would rock. I dont care if its a monster, or human. As long as it is animated and has idle, death, moving and shooting modes, and has a gun, thats all I need.

Thanks.

no.

Unless you can tell me what its for, why you cant learn to make your own (like we all did).

Also I'm guessing you want it textured as well? Which means UV Mapping...

Im sticking with No for now.

EDIT: Actually please don't talk, ill give you one... dont expect this from anywhere else though. I mean its not like theres automated search engines on the internet or anything...

probably no luck using one of those... right?

... I'm trying to help you because I know no one else will (due to your complete ignorance and lack of intelligence to read the rules and/or know what is acceptable/unacceptable to post on a forum like this) and your making fun of me now?

What an utter moron you have to be for one, to post something like this thinking you will actually GET the least bit of help, and two to then (after help recieved) say something as idiotic as "Is it that time of month for you?"

Damn you and your ignorance to hell.

I hope no other forums will have to host such idiocies.

It takes at least two weeks to model a character (assuming you have work/school and stuff eating up your day). Let alone animate and texture it as well. And that's when making one for yourself.

The chances of someone having an animated model they don't need anymore is just tiny. You don't waste that kind of time on stuff you don't need.

A better explanation for what you want to use it for would be nice though.

D.K.H.A.B.D.A.F.A.R.M.O.....

DONT KNOW HOW, ASK; BUT DONT ASK FOR A READY MADE ONE (Ignore the caps lock)

I know there are times where you really cant study how to make em and need one urgently, maybe someone wants to know what an animated model is,etc. BUT. No one is gonna give it out that easily, he'll be real generous and probably drunk to do that, unless ofcourse you pay him. What im trying to say is: State a reason, if its good maybe the others (as in not to count me in) might give you some models; No offence.

OddMind, you didnt help me. You made a good response, and then edited it and started talking to me as if I were stupid. Thats where my post comes from.

Ok fine you caught me, Im a brave daredevil risking a post being closed ***YIKES*** Some one call the police, I am too ignorant and stupid to purshcase good modeling software, and then go master 3D modeling in a week, and be able to make a character for some little project I am doing.

The forums rules are great and all, but every forum has that rule, and what does that leave me? Besides this isnt a team request, nor am I asking anyone to make me one from scratch, so technically I am not breaking any rules.

Do you think its impossible that some one had made a character and would be willing to let me use it for a little game I am making?

My IQ is 126.
IQ has nothing to do with OddMind being in a bad mood, kid.

You're all acting like you are all high and mighty gods of 3D modeling. The truth is your 3D models arnt being used in Half Life or some other block buster, so stop acting like they are, and stop acting like lending one to some no name project that will never see the light of day on other peoples computers is the most taboo thing ever thought up.

Its not hard to learn to model, yes it does take time, but people don't generally give models willy nilly (hehe I like that, willy nilly ) I mean I got a donation from Oddmind to my project, although I am capable of modelling what I need, his was highly useful and turned into my main character once textured.

But, if you just want a random model, theres no need to ask really, the internet is full of them, as Oddmind posted a link straight to the most overly used model of this comminuty as a place holder, heck I've used it in my project as a place holder. I would recommend you use that one, its full of all the animations you need and he looks pretty cool anyway.

I think Oddmind spoke to you as you were stupid because you made a stupid comment that he was offended, you basically said he has PMT which is an insult.

I personally do not give models away on request, but donate them if I feel like it, like I started a low poly Apache helicopter I will donate to the community as soon as it is textured

the turbosquid site is a great 3d model bank resource.

models for games sometimes require intricate components for animation, the whole process is quite daunting if you dont break it down into easy steps :design, modelling, texturing, animating.
you will find free ones also but quality is haphazard this way unless you try it yourself, you wont be able to tweak it yourself.

Chill out a bit dudes, Oddminds posts was posted as an annoyance to those who never read the stickies, who never simply make a good google search, I mean the stickies were made to avoid threads like this, I think he was trying to point that one out, if you looked at them you would notice that theres one called 'Helpful posts about 3D' look under freebies and you got free media, his post was written as being annoyed to the amount of people who don't look before they request.

I have no real problem with you asking, but what's it for? A game? A video? Or maybe you plan to sell it at our expense? A simple explanation, a please and a sorry for the inconvenience would make you come off a lot better.
I know it's really difficult getting your point across on the net, but you really sound quite demanding and later, just plain rude.

I hope you find your model. I'll be expecting a WIP from you soon.

I got a headache reading this post.

You must understand asking for a free model is like me asking for free groceries at the grocery store. Both take time to produce and proplerly setup for use(or in this case, eating).

Search Turbosquid, google, 3dtotal, FPSC media boards, but don't make requests demanding that someone give(donate) you anything ever.

I didnt demand anything.

Its not for a commercial product, its not for something that will be released to many people.

Ill probably just show family and friends, and post it here.
Its just a practice project, so I can learn game programming.

I thought that maybe some one made a character for fun, or for a similar project, and they would have let me use it.

I'd love to learn to make my own models, then I wouldnt have to do this at 50 different message boards, but right now I dont have the money or time to.

then use a place-holder cube until you have the time to make a character

I think the point that is trying to be put accross is that there is no need for threads like this as the information is in the stickies, even one sticky said 'read or else' which stresses the importance of the type of things people hate to see, and all the information requested in those types of threads is in the stickies, which is why people get annoyed with these threads, but I see it has gotten a wee bit out of hand

hehe or you could download the two perfectly modelled animated and textured models I linked you to...

I'm sorry if I came across as an @sshole but you did as well, so I think we should all just be nice to each other, you should download psionics models (dont go saying he hasnt done professional work because I'm quite certain he has) and get on with your project.

theres 4 answers to your no money excuse. And before you ask yes they are good enough, the final fantasy developers used metasequoia while making FFX FFX-2 and FFXI (yes thats an MMO with 500,000 players since last census)

Download one of them, and use the time you spend here to learn one of them. Blender is a bit tougher... but of course you are up there at 126 so im sure you can handle it.

And if thats true about your IQ you should have no problem given the time it takes you to think of what you post, type it and press the button.

g'day...

EDIT: also just read your other post, seems that on the 18th of june you were told about blender and wings, posting that above either hinted at your only making excuses for not wanting to do work or that you dont read what other people post very well.

People can ask for models if they want, they are just very unlikely to get an animated character model. That is the hardest, and most expensive model to make/buy. However, A lot of models came with DB Classic. You can glue a weapon to the hand.

I have Deled and use it for making levels.
I just got the Milkshape trial version and its much easier, especially when using the skeletons from UT.

Thanks Oddmind for the links, ill have a look at that metaseq.
I have tried wings and blender and didn't like them very much.

Actually I was flicking through the 3D world mag in the store (had no money to buy it though) but it was the 'open source' special and has a list of a recommended toolset for open source modelers, they had something like, Wings3D - Modelling, Blender - Animation, The Gimp- Texturing, Yafray - Rendering, landscape - terragen, the rest I forgot, but there were freebie composition apps (similar to After effects) and even Camera tracking, if I get the few quid to buy it, I'll provide that list, I think its quite a useful guide.

U demanded a quite a lot there... and insulted a bit too much aslo.

Oddmind is right... you did not read the rules of this forum.

Bahamut is also correct. it takes me ages to model a decent character (Usualy i just give up) it takes about a couple of days to model... at least depending on the detail). Then u want the character animated, that takes about a week (At least also depending on the detail of animations and model) Texturing can also take ages. So its realy asking a lot.

My Advice, if ur not too hot on the modeling... you should purchase Darkmatter. Its very good especially if ur a beginner programmer wanting lots of characters/Objects. I used to own DarkMatter 1 and found it very helpfull and a lot more fun than worrying about ur own models and saves more time looking around on the internet.
