woh, lots of replies, right here i go...
Quote: "i know like 143 thing are in there!!! is adobe hard to use like to make your kinds of textures?"
Photoshop is basically the "do anything to an image" program, built for every single form of making an image, so it takes a while to learn the tools and how they can actually help with what your doing (i.e. textures) but once you get the hang of the tools, you'll be very fluent with it, most of the time when im making textures its basically a reflex when i switch to another tool and the intensity, size etc. so once you become familiar it will be easy.
Quote: "youve been noob slapped for 3 days for talking about piracy. Youve been on the forum for a while, and you should know better."
hah, OWNED!
Quote: "Really nice model! It always amazes me how much people around here seem to know so much about guns.
That's why I heven't even attempted to model weapons, I'm not convinced I even know what a "stock" is...much less getting the reload animations right.
So kudos to you!
"
i guess its my personality really (im not an evil guy, or in love with guns) but i have always been interested in the concept of war and politics, mostly iraq, i find war to be serious and something that should be paid attention to. Also when growing up i guess i was one of those kids who like "playing army" gradually observing weapons and buying the occasional bb gun, lol
Quote: "Great work again, Jon. I've got some major catching up to do.

thanks Keith, i might also go for the camo version, with the "yellow dirt" look, though ive always prefered the look of the black version
Quote: "In screeny one on the side of the gun I can see the fire selector switch and the casing chamber (where the bullet casings come out),
but it appears they are on the reverse side too. I know it's a tiny detail, but I really like the folding chamber thing on the reverse side of the M4. Still, gorgeous texture work."
yeh, was just a mirror to see the gun on that side, i might have another look at it.
thanks
4am eh? so i see im not the only one, lol, ah the m83 is pretty cool, i was thinking about that handle under the rail, but a m203 seemed the way to go
Quote: "Can I ask, please, what "not too shabby" rolls in at? From the screenies, I'd have thought it'd be a monster poly-wise also."
thanks, only about 900 polygons! though im sure the tri-count is way more, but thats pretty good
Quote: "That is awesome, Jon! Excellent work again, man!"
cheers! im glad you like, next up is the SPAZ shotgun
Quote: "Great job jon, but if I may say so, I think it has to much Extra stuff (both scope, laser sight, flashlight, and a grenade laucher?)
If you ask me, lose the scope. and the light.
"
i dont agree, although i value your opinion, i think that the etra variations make it something much greater in a game, more unique, alot of games tend to have the "default style" and forgive me if im wrong but if your fighting something, im sure you would want the best tactics, but some prefer classic i guess
Quote: "I like it Jon, good job. I dont agree with essal, I think all the extra stuff on it makes it a mans gun.
By the way, what do you use when you rig the hands; do you use Skin or Physique? I ask because when I rigged my hands using Skin, the finger next to the thumb gets draged with it.
"
thanks, yeh, i suppose the extras do make it stand out better from the "commando" as more of a threat to humanity
lol
i used bones to rig the hands, and then using the skin modifier, then editing the envelopes to include the vertices needed for that bone, there is some stretching of other fingers, but only when you get too far you actually really notice it, im thinking about switching to a biped hand, and the physique modifier, as of now 'skin' is pretty darn annoying
