I use dream weaver. It's a bit pricey but really easy. And I use directnic as my server.

you could use something like www.megaupload.com to store files (exe + any filetype if u own rights), and set up a html/txt site on any freebie host www.clickherefree.com (host serach engine) and link to megaupload file pages.(use advanced search option on clickhere) saves hunting through 100s of pages.

multi FTP ACCOUNTS, is what u need, even freesites can give you 2 or 3 ftp accounts, u need to create ftp account in hosts control pannel and put file witin this account lock/private folder, when u drirectly link to file and popup with user/pass input will show up before page opens, your mates wont need an FTP client to download either.

in control pannel (pending on what sever is using) just click the ftp icon and on that page should have (create user account button)

Yahoo geocities is free and easy. Not allot of download space but good for working in layers. I did that till I got dreamweaver.

I still say sohosts is a good package to use.

You could use freewebs (but you only get 100mb of bandwidth...) so watch out.

Hey!
I just got an idea!

Go on Freewebs and sign up for a professional package (it's still free, it just means that its an ftp package rather than site builder). Then you can create your website on your PC (using dreamweaver or that) and upload it to freewebs.

Then use filefront.com to upload and store your games on and simply link from your freewebs site to your filefront.com files!

And its all 100% free!

The only thing you need to do is post 5 qualifying posts... to get the site... you get frih$ for posts thats the catch you gotta keep somewhat active in the forums you cant get below -20points before they delete your webspace
