Hi this is my first ever 3D-model I have only worked in 2D before but now Iam giving a try to Dark Basic. This model was made really fast becuse it was simpel and I didnt got anything to do. It is 378 poly and made in Anim8or. I havent made any animations yet but I shall do that when I have some sparetime.

If the images cant be watched becuse of my shitty mirror
on Angelfire then try the link

My first mirror/host was really great: free, no ads, PHP, MySQL, and much more but it closed so Iam trying to find a new host. But angelfire will do at the time test to go to my Home page to see the picture:

i think rich needs to fix the WWW button, it keeps putting http://www.darkbasicpro.com/apollo/forums before the actual address and really needs to open a new target window.

Looks like a basic model, just simple extrude geometry used. Try making the overall shape smoother - as you appear to be very new to modelling, ignore polygon counts and just try to make things look real... try to get the general shape of what your going for. Once you've gained skill in shapeing then try to lower the counts.

Remember a texture doesn't make the model, it is there to enhance and define the basic shapes you've already set.

From this it appears to be a max model, so probably just trying to cut some more shape and chamfer certain vertex would help alot.

"http://www.darkbasicpro.com/apollo/forums before the actual address"

Nope - it only does that if they don't type in "http://" at the start of their URL.

Cheers,

Rich

Some of the texturing is okay, but a lot of it needs some re-working. There seem to be some strange seems on it too. I suggest you purchase a book on proportions so that you can study how humanoid anatomy really looks. Also, if some parts of the texture were a little more blurred it would look much better (brown muscle areas) Also, the model is a tad boxy.

Well I'm not going to use this model anyway I just wanted to see what I can do. Right now Iam filled up with my reales of my 2D RPG (retro looking) game. And my own fanzine comic. But when all that is finished I mate consideer to take up the model and re-model it.
