i dont know if this post should be put on the 2d board or this board. So ill post ir here.

I dont know if this is a bug in patch 4. But i use the BOX command and it creates a box. Fair enough. But then i use the CENTER TEXT command and no text appears. No text even appears when i comment the box out. Print fails to work either. I havent tried just TEXT on its own yet. Im almost certain that i have got my dimensions correct. So its not printing off the screen somewhere. Can anybody help.

yes, something even weirder has now occured. It works but only if i print something before hand in the loop that i call the function from. now, i am using an array type to define the properties of the button (im making a button)
and when i try to read a value from this array (if statement) it doesnt work. Can i use type directly in If statements?

more like this

anyways i have deciphered that issue. It turns out u cant do the IF statement directly so i put my global variable into a local variable and did the IF on that and it worked.

Now my problem is that the text appears over the button until i click it, at which point the text disappears with no return. It should only change color. This occurs with both the print statement and the text statement. Does anybody know of a bug which might be causing this. Thnx in advance. I really need to sort this problem as its for my interface engine.

Im just posting here to re-new the topic since it seems to be sliding down the list of popularity...

Can one of the DarkBasic team confirm if this is a bug or not. I can e-mail my entire dbpro project to them if they need it

The biggest bug in DBPro is the bacteria in the guts of the programmer.

Show us your code please or cut out of the dodgy section with all relevences.

it wasnt a bug. thank you for your listening to my whining.

The bug in my program actually arised from a previous debugging session.

Anyway i think i have the problem nabbed in the gut now. No doubt as i add more user controls to my interface system more bugs will arise but for now everything is honky dory.
