Hello Everyone,

I am Godrich, Founder and CEO of Steel Works Media. I have noticed that this community has been without a good resource site since the original FPS-Files went down. So I have decided to create a new and Improved FPS-Files. The file downloads will be hosted by Filefront.com and We will include many features that are suggested by the community as a whole.

Any suggestions?

Godrich

I think you should talk with Templar then...he was the guy who had the old FPS-files, he can maybe set it up for you.

He Who Visits The FPSC Forum, Returns 10 minuters later, to see whats new.

What kind of features would you all like to see (Pic of the Week, etc.) We already have the Model of the Month (None chosen yet but several models are in the running) and we are working on a search for the website so that you can look for a specific files if you want to or browse through them all. Also, if anybody would like to submit their files to be put on the website that would be very welcome. We have only a few files but are hope to get some submissions from the community.

BTW the website is actually called FPS Creator Central but I hope it will be as popular as FPS-Files. the website will be www.fpscreator-central.tk (not yet up, check back later.)

Give you some advice
I wouldnt host your files with filefront or any sort of media site like that

I had trouble with them
and when a file has not been downloaded for quite some time it automatically deletes the file

Thats the reason why I didnt bring FPSF back with the use of those filehosters

became very annoying

Good Luck Though

I realized that Filefront isn't good enough, so I decided to use Save File. It works I guess.

Please dont host them at file-planet! tons of waits... ads, and takes alot of time to open up, just for 1 download.

If your serious about hosting, then I suggest you do what I do, pay for a decent host. You can get a HUGE bundle package of space and bandwidth with todays competetive market. I pay 9.95 per month and get 50 gigs space and unlimited bandwidth.

hmmmm using a free domain ".tk" and I sure do hope your not running with a free hosting sites they don't ever last long... Templar1 is absolutely right with you should host your own files or you will spin your wheels with broken links and a constant filled email email telling you that your missing a file...

Submissions are great but odd's are your gonna have to do what Templar1 already has done for the most part is when someone submits here at the forum ask the modeler for permission to host his file and find out what his requirements on the use of his work.

Also with your web hosting make sure your package is high on the bandwidth I doubt you will hit a 5 gb mark with the files and website itself... Unless you expect to put in a lot of video tutorials..

I am a web designer by trade myself and script in asp, php, cfm and I know how to build databases like IIS, sql, mysql, oracle so if you got questions on building your site feel free to hit me up if you run into any bugs.

Templar1 ran with a great idea by using a CMS "Content Management System" Nuke I believe and this may be alot less headaches for you when designing your website.

I see Templar1 is giving suggestions here just a personal suggestion maybe you should consult with him and find out what may be the best route to take to get this community to warm up to you.... Because I know we all like Templar1

Have you downloaded your CLiPs today.

MY fave free domain thing which link to your site has to be .co.nr except you have to have a tiny advertisement on your site... And it seems to take a little while to link to your site >.<
