A new serial port plugin for dbp that allows your dbp app to comm over any or all of the available com ports on the host pc, simultaneously. The plugin persists the group of ports you define on the fly from code, and handles all data I/O - each port object has its own Queue to avoid missed messages and all that good stuff. Check out the doc for more info

you can grab the free plugin from my page of stuff

the plugin is fully documented and includes a keywords ini file
this plugin was written in VB.NET with .NET Framework 2.0. The required framework can be downloaded from a link on my page as well.

cheers

yea, a month old bump but I didn't think it deserved its own thread, but anyway....
I'm attempting to make a server for my OS via an emulator(blah blah)
I need to send raw data(as in more than just hello worlds) but dbp has troubles storing certain things in strings, so is there possible a way to send it by bytes, and also your help file included is quite hard to understand IMO(but I never really did understand VB syntax)

I hate having to read a readme and then go look somewere else to find the rest of the info

@ThreeScore
Thats exactly why I did my winsock plugin. With it you are not bound to string messages, but can send memblocks! You can send any byte values including 0.

or CattleRustler, have you made your net-plugin byte-safe yet?

3score, how would you pass a byte array to a plugin? how would you get a byte array back?

barnski, this plugin is for serial port communications, it has nothing to do with ezs, which, no, doesnt do bytes yet.
